Tek light

I recently received my tek light from reefgeek. I also bought the hanging kit, but that is my problem..

The order did not come with any instructions on how to setup the kit.

Anyone have any ideas how to set it up if you have done it before?

I do not understand at all what goes where.

Thanks

-Max

the hanging kit should be a wire and 2 little metal rod like things...

place the wire through the side/ bottom of one of the rods and pull it through the top until the metal base of the wire hits the rod

send the wire through the top of the other rod and push down on the top of the rod.. this will allow you to pull the wire through... then you stop pushing down on the top of the rod the wire will catch.

Well, the kit comes with...

the two metal rods
two round white circles
two of these clips, I'm guessing they go in the roof. They say 1/4
two really long gray nails
two really long black nails
Two round silver studs
two really long metal lines (for the hanging)

And the tek light itself comes with two triangles, and 4 hooks.

I called them a couple hours ago, and they are all closed =\

Sunlight supply is closed for the weekend, and so is reefgeek

find the studs in the ceiling and screw the screws in. I saw someone put a drop cloth over the tank as to not get any foreign objects in...you could use a stud finder or cut the dry wall to find them; that will require patching though. Hope that helps. Good luck

You can download the instructions from here .

Strange how this would've been left out, but hopefully this helps

my hanging kit is different from the one you posted a link to.

I cut the wire it came with, thinking it was just to hold the piece, and turns out its a whole different package, with only 2 different pieces. So, I have just clipped an important piece for hanging... what am I supposed to do now?

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Or am I going to have to contact the company for a new one?

go and get some aircraft cable from home depo and replace with the one you cut. also get some small cable clamps so you can make loops with it to hang it easier. from there you can loop them around the v hangers that came with the tek and then attach to the ceiling via screw in hook.
