Copepods, anyone ever added them?
I got a free bottle of 2000-4000 live copepods (they were red and VERY active) from reef nutrients at a convention this weekend. I was wondering if anyone ever used them for a reef only tank? I hear they are an amazing addition to your live rock to "spice" it up a little. I don't have any fish or corals that would eat them, but plenty of live rock for them to live in.
Any suggestions? |

Go for it. Never added them, but I have a ton from the chaeto ball I have in my sump.

After my tank crashed 3 months ago all my pods were dead too. Got some cheato from 2 other reefers but never really got all my pods back.
Got a thing of DT's pods dumped them in and 3 weeks later I got more pods then I had before the crash. I highly recommended them for new start-upos. Really kick starts your pods. |

I'm going to dump the damn things in then. All we are going for is 2 clowns and corals in our 40 breeder with 25lbs live sand and 50 lbs live rock.
That should really make a jump start on colonizing the newer live rock but dumping in 2-4000 copepods lol. |
