any one use these and have success with them? im concerned with the ph issue and having to bleed air out of the unit every day

My friend uses one and doesn't have a problem. I don't think you have to bleed air out of them. The biodenitrator is the same as the ca reactor from korallin I have that I don't have any problems.

I use a similar set up using Midwest Aquatics's version. It's pretty much set up and go. How long have you had it running? If it has been a long time, it might need to be cleaned.
