Cleanin Up

I run a Fluval 405, and HOB Reef Octopus 300F Skimmer and a Phosban Reactor. My water is fine, but I looked back on the old tank photos I have an feel as if things just aren't as clear as they used to be. How can I clear things up a bit. I have a little hair algae and dirty water. I run only sponges and carbon in the fluval. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Canister filters need frequent cleaning. Otherwise they can do this to a system.

And carbon needs frequent replacing.

I'd toss the carbon, and phase out the canister filter. Do you have a sump? Just don't do anything that will drastically change the bacteria population at once.

What are your water parameters?

What is your water change routine?

What size tank, and do you have a good amount of rock for bacteria population?

How well is the skimmer working?

65 gallon tank, about 10 gallon water changes weekly, about 90 pounds of live rock, skimmers working very well
