Skimmer thoughts??

Hello all,

I am getting ready to upgrade my skimmer for about 40 total gallons. I am thinking of the future before I do my upgrade and will be moving into a 90 or 120 within the year. I don't want to have to buy another skimmer a year from now.

So I know the Reef Octo extreme XS160 is too much but that is the skimmer I would like to use on the upgraded tank. I feed heavily and the Wifey wants to add 2 more fish for a total of 5 fish and my tank is mostly SPS. Will this skimmer even function properly for my size tank? I appreciate any feed back or recommendations.

Justin

maybe buy a used one for the time being , and save the extra $ towards the future setup , or treat yourself to a few new frags

At my LFS i get a 30% off coupon monthly, so I could get it for 220. I would like to get the NW110, but it's been out of stock for months so I'm giving up.

That skimmer looks like the bubble magus, let me know how that works out. For around $100 and free shipping, what the heck. I could do something like that and wait for the upgrade to happen.

Anyone have experience with the Eshopps S series cone skimmers? Was looking at them also.

I have the skimmer running for 24 hours and it rocks very good skimmer well built. Check my my review on it. Well worth the money. This skimmer is as good as any $200-300 cone skimmer on the market.
