reefkeeper elite heater control question

I just recently purchased a refkeeper elite, set it up and its running good. One thing I am curious about is that the controller will hold my temp rock solid at 79.5 all day but when I get up in the morning it is dropped down to 78.4. This happens every day. Is there a setting to change that will stop this. I turned off night mode but this has not helped.

any help on this would be appreciated

Is the controller shutting the heater off? Could it be an underpowered heater?

Not sure how to check that. I bought the unit used, so it may be set up to do that. the outlet it is plugged into is set for on/off on auto.

IIRC on/off auto if set to go off at a certain time will shut off the outlet.

Are there any power graphs on the controller? You could check for amps used.

Can you post how you have that channel programmed? Do you have any alarms set?

Setting the night mode to OFF means that you want that channel to be OFF during night mode. You can not turn night mode OFF globally. You can only change the time when night mode is ON and when it turns OFF. Under night mode on your heater channel set it to ON. See if that fixes your problem. It certainly sounds like the heater is set to turn OFF during night mode. By default, night mode is ON at 9pm and OFF at 9am.

When you got this used controller, did you just plug your equip into it without programing it for your equip and needs?

How is the controller holding your temp rock solid at 79.5 all day? What do you have it doing? Is it controlling a heater, fan, chiller?
Prob need more info too.
What size tank?
What lights? MH, T5, LED
What is plugged into the controller and how is it set up?
What temp do you keep the house set at during the day and at night?
Do you have a ceiling fan on at night?

There are just too many variables to "guess" why you are getting a 1 degree temp drop at night.

Sounds like a night mode issue. Make sure you set the default to be on during the night mode and ignore during standby mode
