nice looking MH/T5 or LED combo fixture

All

I am working on my 220 peninsula and am shopping around for MH fixtures. I am thinking hard about going topless so would like a nice/sleek looking fixture. The Geismann is awesome but apparently not available in the US anymore. I can't seem to find any others that aren't just big black boxes. Any recommendations?

FYI would like a 3x fixture haven't settled on 250 or 400s though.

thanks

Love my Cebu sun, however recently picked up the reefbrite led/halide hybrid and LOVE the colors and led pop. So I am adding the reefbrite strips to my cebu sun which uses the stock screws in the fixture that are unused as well as the reefbrite fixtures have the mounts already at each end and are the exact length needed. My Cebu sun now runs 2 250w Radiums, 4 ATI T5's, and a 48" Reefbrite XHO Blue led strip. I have the brackets already to finish the look on the other side running the other Reefbrite strip.

Reefbrite halide/led hybrid fixture

My Cebu sun conversion

Tweaked, when all of the Cebu Sun's lights are on, are you able to see much of a difference when the leds come on? Or are they more for dusk/dawn?

These XHO strips are no joke. 3w LEDs driven at 1w, no optics but a three sided reflector. I run 3 true actinic ATI bulbs and a purple plus and can definitely see the blue pop with these on. Them on just by them selves is just ridiculous too when you want to enjoy that later evening fluorescence. I would of bought the two strips I need from the start, but they cost $350 a strip lol. When all done, this light will have cost me over 2k but I have every option at my fingertips and love it. JMO

Cool, i own the 72" Cebu Sun.
Didn't realize the it needed zero modification to add the led strip.

I'll post a better pic of the bracket later as well as the screws. You'll notice there are lower screws, and a set of uppers which have absolutely no purpose.. until now

Simple bracket I cut and used. These two are for the other side once I get the other strip. The effect is very clean, and housings on the XHO are black.

Thanks and no problem. I'm so happy I went with this light, and quickly went with the Hamilton m80 ballasts so I could run the radiums. The fixture also has some LEDs built in for a moon light effect which is nice. The housing is overbuilt super thick aluminum with a 1/4" glass shield and massive fans at each end which are pretty quiet. One cord for the fans, each halide on its own cord, 2 cords for the t5s, and one for the moons. The t5s are outers an inners instead of each bank like some light makers do it which I do not agree with. I apex all the lighting for a great sun up and sun down feature even splitting the halide on off times for that rise and set feel on the reef. All that said, I love the reefbrite hybrid led/halide light as well. Just not the monster the Cebu sun is.

Halides or bust!

Not sure I understand the request.

T5s are 3 ATI True Actinics and 1 ATI Purple Plus

So I've come to the realization that this is the only fixture that is powerful enough to power my reef. How has the response been with your sps? I'm running my kessils over top of the tank right now just to see if I get a different respince before I spend some more money on a new fixture. I'm sold on the cebu and not sold. Do you have pros and con's of the fixture? Like does it matter that it doesn't have individual reflectors? Also can you take a pic of the m80 ballasts? Is the m80 electronic or magnetic? And I'm guessing your running 20k radiums?

Yo guys, my LFS goofed and got me 48" reefbrites instead of 60" like I needed, I'm trying to figure out what to do to get these on. I have 2 reefbrites. I took them because in th e future of I change tanks I feel I'll be going with a 4 foot or 5 foot. Can you guys lend a bro a hand? I purchased some aluminum flat channel. I was going to get someone to bend it. And drill it to make some brackets.

CoralVue are the US distributors of Giesemann products. I'm not familiar with the size of a 220 as here in the UK we tend to quote tank dimensions but depending upon the width then either a Giesemann infiniti (up to about 24" tank width), Giesemann Moonlight (up to about 30") or Spectra (up to about 40") will all look very nice.
