A.lennardi!!!

Hey everyone, so I had the opportunity today to pick up 3 A. lennardi so I jumped at it. They've been on my must get fish list forever. Hopefully they make it through QT. I know there's gonna to be issues w my existing femininus but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. It'll be a great problem to have, regardless.

Anyway, here are a few quick pics I took with my iPhone during their formalin bath and acclimation.

Wow, that's awesome! Most people would love to just have a single femininus, let alone 3 lennardi. Congrats.

Thanks everyone. Two of them ate for me already. The third (largest of the 3) is hiding a bit. Hopefully he comes around.

Looks like they go for about $1,400 each.....

Although I am SURE you got a sweet deal. I'm amazed at how you guys (Wayne, Derek, and others) can sniff out these prized fish for so much less than their "normal" price.

Well a lot of these fish while very rare to the hobby are also very difficult to keep, such as this one. So the vendors look to sell them as quickly as possible. They know there aren't too many people out there willing to risk buying them with out any guarantee. I don't know about the others, but I use that along with buying multiple ones to my price advantage

And to that point, I only know of Sanjay being successful with the species beyond 1 year. And I believe there's one other long term success story out there, but the name escapes me at the moment.

lennardi is nearly a temperate species, and seemingly has some secrets we've yet to unlock.

My personal hunch is that everyone keeps them too warm, or they may actually need 6 months at two different temps; one cold and one warm.

That's why I picked up all 3 in hopes maybe one of them will survive.

I keep my reef tank on the cooler side so hopefully that'll help.

Thanks guys! All three readily ate for me today so so far so good! Hopefully they'll make it through their first round of Prazi in a couple of days.

Lol, thanks for the offer. I am getting a little worried now. Just w my previous experience with multiple femininus, I know the males are quite territorial and aggressive. And I know mine will be very difficult to catch because it'll be too shy to go into the fish trap. What to do??!

I actually haven't introduced my pintail earlie's into my reef tank yet either. The current two in my tank are huge in comparisons and I didn't want to risk any aggression issues either.

My CB Bandits are probably large enough for my main tank. I gotta think of a way to introduce all of them into my tank. Hmmm...

Killer, you are a braver man than me...
great to see the coloration on the gp, the growth spread is insane between the generation...
the bandits are tough and healthy, add to dt!

Yeah, probably true. Both lennardi and feminus are cooler water fish in most cases. I wouldn't be surprised if keeping them in warm tanks over the long haul is pretty hard on the fish.

Still, very nice fish Wayne. good luck with them.

Hey guys,

So just a little update. The trio handled their first round of Prazi like champs and they're just starting their 3rd transfer round. Just one more Prazi round and into my observation system they will go! Now I have to figure out how catch my male femininus.
