Lighting: Planning a 48" 75G tank - shadow concern
I was originally looking at a 48" Reebreeders Photon V2, but I was told that I would be dealing with an annoying shadow from the center brace of my tank, and am now thinking about getting 2 Kessil A360's...my LFS recommends a couple of cheap black boxes, but I want something more programmable/controllable. Help!

Looking at some photos of folks using 36 inch fixture over 48 inch tank, it doesnt seem like there is much of a shadow, if at all (i am sure owners will chime in with their 1st hand experience soon).
If you are really worried about shadow why not just get 2 Photon V2 16 inch fixtures. They are good for 24x24x24, so place one on each side of the brace and you shouldnt see that much of a shadow from the brace. |

You will always get shadows with LED unless you pretty much cover the entire surface.
The new Orphek units look like the best option for led without having to buy a light for every 1.5sqft Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
