Disolved Oxygen Control With Aqua Controller III Pro
The subject says it all. has anyone ever used the AquaController III Pro to control the addition of O2.

The DO probe doesn't seem to be very popular with most users. Probably because it costs ~400 just for the probe. Also the probes are problematic over the long run. The membranes develop biofilms (nned to be cleaned very frequently), the electrolyte needs to be replaced frequently, they are very sensitive to having good flow across the membrane, etc.
If you are doing a reef tank with a skimmer, lots of circulation, and not too many fish, you will probably be running close to saturation anyway. I have checked our system occaisonally with a DO meter that we use in a stream ecology lab that we do. I've always been between 95-98% saturation. I think close monitoring of DO with addition of supplemental O2 might be useful in systems with very heavy bioloads. |
