Sequence Dart on a WavySea Unit?
I currently have a Dart with a 1.5" feed line on a closed loop which outputs to 4 1" returns, the flow literally sucks, it is very low at best.
I'm thinking about ditching the 4 1" returns and running it directly to 1 or 2 WavySea units, think this would work, it would still be on a closed loop. |

I see on their site it says the regular WavySea unit can handle a max of 2300gph but general recommend 1700gph through the unit.
I may wait for the WaveSea Plus to come out, aparently it'll handle all kinds of pressure and flow. |

My Dart is on a OM 8way.. With two 1" outputs on at all times. It blows crabs and fish across my 180.. With 4 you still should have alot of flow.. I would take a good look at your plumbing.. I'm using a 2" feed on mine maybe thats the problem.

I'm stuck with 1.5" and there is no way of changing it.

You might want to just think about changing pumps. I would think that the 1.5" inlet is what is limiting the flow. The 2" inlet on the Darts is the one thing that I don't like about them as the majority of the pumps out their use 1.5" inlets. I bought a Sequence Hammerhead for my CL as I had heard of some people complaining about the Darts not being strong enough. I figured that I could always throttle it back if it was too much. You might also want to check out a Dolphin Ampmaster. When I was researching pumps--I found that many people said that they are quite a bit stronger than Darts--they also use 1.5" inlets. A Dolphin Ampmaster 3000 is rated for about the same flow as a Dart, but several people said it was much stronger. It also only uses around 120watts and is very quiet.
I was going to go with an Ampmaster before I found a steal on a Hammerhead--so we'll see how it goes. HTH!!!

How bout two 1" inputs.. .. Thats how mine is plumbed.. I have two 1" Bulkheads that run to a 2" T then to the Dart.. That way I dont have to have a 2" hole in the tank just for the intake.
Not a great picture but you can kind of see the input. ![]()

I might just do that.
I like the fact it only uses ~ 120 watts. That may be the key, I think that going through 1 WavySea Plus would be some massive random flow. |

I agree--it would be kickin!!!
Something you also might want to think about--if the Ampmaster gives you quite a bit more flow--you may be able to just get one of the regular WavySea units and split the output--then you could route half of the flow to the WavySea and then the rest back to your 4 returns. You could just put a ball valve or something on the wavysea that way you could control how much or how little flow you have going to it--the rest would go to your existing returns. Just a thought!!!

Nah I want more random flow. Even 2 WavySea units are cheaper then a set of Tunze Streams
