Will a Fire Fish Goby be compatible with...

Hi all, I have a reef tank with Tangs, Perc. Clowns, Algae Blenny, and a few Anthias. I want to introduce a fire fish Goby (about an 1" long). Do you think he/she will have any compatibility probs?

TIA.

Only thing I would think MIGHT cause a problem is the blenny. Not sure what an algea blenny is but sometime they can be mean to a fish of the same shape. Fire fish are very shy and could get spooked by an agressive fish. I just got a fire fish yesterday and I love it!!!

Given that your tank has lots of hiding spots I think you will be fine. I added one to my 75g which has yellow tang, flame angel, pink skunk clown, convict blenny, algae blenny, green chromis.

After about 3 weeks the fire goby is starting to settle in and is not hiding all the time. None of the other tank makes have shown little aggression to the fire goby.

HTH

first of all, how big is your tank?

i agree with what's been said, as long as your tank has plenty of hiding spaces in the rockwork, i'm sure it will be alright (tank size depending)

I added a diamond watchmen goby a couple of weekends ago. The biggest mistake I've done. Lawnmower blenny did not take it well, and I ended up losing both of them and a regal tang as a result of the stress. I was and still am crushed over it. From my personal experience I would never do it again.

Hope this helps.
