frag lighting
i just recieved about 10 frags ,the guy i got them from had them under 400 w mh lights,
i have 250 w mh lights since my total wattage is less than he had how long after i place them in my tank should i wait to turn on my lights. i raised my lights about 12 in. from were i normaly keep them thanks the guy i got the frags from said he would turn on the lights right after acclimating them, any thoughts |

Do you know if they were under the same light spectrum as your system as well?
If they have just come from his system, without a stopover in some holding facility, you should be able to just run your light cycle as you normally do, assuming you are both using the same light spectrum. Light acclimation is only really necessary if you are increasing the light intensity that the corals are under, or have a large spectrum shift for the corals to adjust to. |

thats what i thought ,i got them this morning straight from his tank to mine, he sent them yesterday ,but no stopover
his spectrum 14k and mine is also 14k,so that should be ok thanks ill give them a few hours and turn them on thanks |

Yeah, just monitor them a little bit at first. They might be a little stressed from being mailed, but it shouldn't be a problem.
