I have 2 4's on my 125, and it was hard to find a dead spot for stuff that doesnt like alot of flow. I'd go with 2 2's maybe on a 55 instead of one big one so you have current coming from both sides and have less likelihood of any dead spots.
If you have sand they will blow it around quite a bit, so you'll have to fool with the direction's their pointed to get that to stop.

Your gonna be real happy with the performance of the Koralia's. They work great.

I have 2 4's in my 55 gallon. Lots of flow, but it works out. Just gotta point them right.

I just added a #2 to my 40 gal. and its plenty. I already had 2 maxi jets so I had to remove one and figure out a good position for the new Koralia to prevent the sand from blowing around. But it works great.

Just put three 4's in my 155 last night. They were on back order for a couple of weeks and finally came in. I already had a maxijet 1200 on an oscilator and about 1800 gph coming in via 2 returns. The nice thing about these power heads is you can target them where you want to get rid of deadspots. I am very happy with them. Got 2 of them blowing in behind the liverock.
I would go with two 3's on your 55 and keep the flow restrictors off. That will spread out the flow and move things nicely for you.
