Heavy Skimming?

Hi
What does it mean when someone mentions the term 'heavy skimming', I was under the impression that you either skim or dont skim. Forgive my ignorance as I am relativley new to the hobby, by the way I use a Deltec MCE300.

Hi Barry,

That term may be a bit misleading. I think they refer to the amount of skimmate they collect in a day and the consistency of the foam collected. Usually when someone says heavy skimming they mean the collect several cups of fairly wet foam in a day. Whether this is any better than collecting a single cup of dry skimmate in a day is probably debatable.
