water changes?

I am crossing over to RO/DI water i have a 180g tank total volume of water is 200g i am changing 30g at a time how the calculator told me that i will have 99% pure water in 17 weeks. My question is do i water changes every weekend are every other weekend?

I change 10% a week on my 120g have since its been up now 2years seems to work for me some change every 2 weeks

IMO...If you have the time, I would do water changes every week. It will keep you tank looking nicer. I have a few friends that do it every 2 weeks or so. But the 2nd week the tank starts looking pretty ratty

I had a poor waterchange routine for about a year. Then I made some changes to the sump and mixing vat to make changes easier. I do a 10% once a week and clean the skimmer. I have seen more growth and better colors on my corals than ever before.

If you can swing it, Once a week is the way to go IME.

I do 30gal in my 150gal system minus the rock space, I do it every 2 weeks, sometimes 3, tank looks good even after 3 but I run AC in a reator,after the first week, it also depends on your bio load, and corals, my shrooms will tell me if it is over due.

Maybe its just me............????

In my opinion saltwater tanks & fish take maintance & time. If I wanted to have a great looking fish tank but no maintance...I whould just but a picture of a fish......lol lol lol
