Should I add a K3 or K4???????

I have a 48" long 90g and I need to add another powerhead before I will feel comfortable adding any corals. I plan on an sps dominant tank with a few zoos and softies. I would like both powerheads facing opposite of one another and I can't decide if the other should be a koralia 3 or 4. Please give suggestions as to what you think would create the most erratic flow.

Go with a 4. It'll kick up some sand, but after some tuning you should be able to hit the sweet spot.

i don't think 3's have enough power for most 4 foot tanks, so go with 4's. that is what i have on my 90, two of them, and i still think i need more flow, but my sps and other corals are doing great.

I'd definitely go with some 4s. Mo flo mo better.

Thanks for responding. I guess I should get another K4. My tank is BB so sand is not an issue.

tpenn187: How are your K4s placed, do you have a pic you can post?

Another way you could do it is to get 4 K1's or K2's, position them opposite each other around the tank, and put them on a wave timer (there is a fairly cheap wave timer at Premium Aquatics for about $80, but I never used it.) if you want changing flows, or you could just skip the wave timer and let them run, which would give you more flow. If you have extra cash laying aroung and want go on a spree, you could get 4 K4's, which would give you 50 times tank volume per hour, but your tank might start moving across the room.
