Reflector orientation

I am building a hood for my 55g and I am about to install the lighting. I have 2X175 MH with PFO optimal reflectors. My question is, which way is best to orient them? Should the Reflectors and bulbs be parallel to the tank (if looking from the front of the tank seeing the side of the bulbs) or should they be perpendicular (you would see the end of the bulbs if looking at the front of the tank). I am able to do it both ways and would like to minimize the light bleeding to the floor. Thanks!
