filter pad in or out?

i have a wet dry in to the refugium and i am using an overflo box to drain. In the overflow box there is a ronded pad that i change out just about every other day and in the drain a pad that i change out just the same. any advice or ideas

If you are changing that often I don't think that shold be a problem

For the sake of simplicity, I'd remove one of them-- preferably the one that's more difficult to access.

The only mechanical "sponge/pad" I use on my 90 gal is the sponge in the overflow, and I rinse it daily. Anything that gets past that settles in the sump and gets sucked out with the weekly water change.
