light acclimation?

I'm getting a nova extream pro 6x54 watt bulb unit to replace my
260 watt pc light , whats the best method of adding this to tank?I've heard some talk on useing window screen, but was wondering if I could start with 2 or 3 bulb then add 1 every few days or so?

I have found this method to work very well.
I get a pieces or pieces of light defuser from Lowes or Home Depot to cover the top of the tank. I then place 3-4 layers of window screen material on top of the light defuser.
Keep the lights on a normal light period and remove 1 layer of screen material every 3-4 days.
