Shrimp spawning
Last night, just after lights-out (though with a red LED on each end of the tank), I saw one of my peppermint shrimp spawn. She was near the top of the water on the left side of the tank, acting pretty agitated, and then zipped at super speed across to the other side. As she went past the middle, it looked like she sprayed the tank with fairy dust. It was the coolest thing to see!
About a week ago I had noticed a ton of shrimp fry(?) in the sump, and was horrified at all the bitty bugs until I realized what they were. This time, I got to see how they all got there |

Get yourself some rotifers, and off you go rearing these suckers!
