Missed It.....My red mushroom spilt.I saw it coming

I been saying for 3 weeks its looks like its growing another piece and it did.I look at it 23 hours a day.LOL.I left my house at 9:30 and came back home at 11:30walked up to my tank and BAM another piece.Im so happy. It was just a frag piece. Now i have 2.My pusling xenia is not doing so well.i had it first. It gets smaller every day.

PS.I did a water change and added some Snow and Phyto feast today.I can see the new piece moving around to find a spot.
I love mushrooms.Im so glad I have new life growing in my tank.

congrats, get used to it. soon you will have a ton of them

I started out with 5 shrooms and this is 8 months later. (just a couple of the rocks.

I ended up just replaceing all the rock and having 2 seperate tanks, 1 for softies and 1 for my SPS.

Very nice - just make sure they keep a distance from your other corals

Why do the need to keep a distance from other corals. I have a bunch of shrooms and i bought a hammer coral and the only spot i could put it is near some mushrooms. When its out it touchs a couple of mushrooms. I havent noticed anything bad happening yet. What will it do?

Try it with your SPS's, the SPS will get white where the shrooms touch it.

A hammer is one of the most toxic corals so yes the shroom isn't going to make a mark on it - not so with all corals. That is the reason most SPS tanks are either shrooms free or they wish they never put them in their tanks. I have a SPS tank and also shrooms but they are on a island to isolate them.

I hate mushrooms. If I could figure out a way to get rid of them, I would. Very potent and will win most battles with other corals. Except, perhaps, Elegance corals.
