Pest?
I have several small clusters of hair-like things that extend just out of the sand bed. They are reddish orange in color with specks of black. I noticed one of the "hairs" grabbing a piece of food and pulling it towards it yesterday. I tried to suck it out with a turkey baster but to no avail. What should I do? I assume these things are bad news, especially if they grow.
Thanks, Andrew |

Spaghetti worm or medusa worm. They're not a pest. Just another part of your clean up crew.

Too small to really capture in a pic. You can barely see them coming out of the sand. I just noticed a piece of shrimp from Rod's food moving and saw this "hair" wrapped around it and pulling.
