ChemiPure Elite -- saved my a$$

Well just to make a long story short, i started batteling hair algae in September of 2007 after returning from a two week vacation where the person i depended on to refil my tank decided not to and tank almost crashing.

It was a 10 Gallon Nano and when i returned there were only half of the tank water left surprisingly enough my Tomato clown and Azure damsel survived, my green star polyed and my frogspawn all survived, my hermits all sruvived but of course my snails went to sleep.

after recovering i was balleting Hair Algae like there is no tomorrow which was expected from the crash, in December i upgraded my tank to a 20 Galloon and ever since that Day it has been Dinoflagenllates War i tried everything from changing water sources, to macro algae to 3 day blackouts adn everytime the algae would return, i added a phosban reactor had the macro running 24/7 still nothing helped get rid of those guys.

Untill a month ago and i was at a pet store to buy some more phosban and one persont hat works there suggested this elite stuff and iw as like watta heck, i tried everything possible there no help so why not one more ownt kill me. I went on and Did 3 days out 4 days on and running the ChemiPure Elite in my phosban reactor(it comes in a bag and id ont believe in any media staying bagged) 2 weeks and i can say my dino is gone and it hasnt returned (2 weeks so far and i havent had it come back)

and for you suspecting its my maintenace scheme, i use oceanic salt, i use reef formula 1 and 2 for alk and calc, PH is at 8.0 to 8.4 all others are undetectable (not even phosphate at that time) and i change 3 gallon fo water every Sunday. Lighting is 135 PC with 65W 10k and 65W Dual actinic. for water motion i hav ea Koralia 1 and Koralia nano with an AC110 as a refugium. Cleanup crew is 1 fighting conch, 2 blue hermit 2 red hermit 2 white hermit, 1 astra, 3 turbo snails, 8 nassarius snails(i only see 4 so i think another 4 went to sleep). I have 1 yellow striped dansel and 1 tomoato clown.

So Bonus to chemipure-elite if you are going to use it dont listen to their 4-6 month non sense, change it every 6 weeks.

I have used this stuff before, and the problem came back a few weeks later, I too was having problems with Dino after a near crash.

I personally find that using media to rid of problems often masks the real issue at hand. I try not to use much except phos-ban. And anymore, even the effect of that in my system is very minimal, I just don't have phosphate.
