supplementing 400w reflux 12k on cv ballasts???
I'm pretty happy with the light combo but I am looking for some supplementation to bring out more colors on my corals. I am thinking of adding 4 t5s but am worried that this will be drowned out by the MH's. As well I am running the lumenbright reflectors so the t5's would be 15 inches off the water since I don't have a hood. I know this is a pretty popular lighting combo so any experiences out there would be appreciated.

Can you find room to sneak a couple of sticks closer to the surface? I have 3 of the lb's over my tank but was able to get a couple of vho tubes a few inches off the water front and back. They don't cast a shadow and add some pop. You can do the same with t5's but I was unsure if the t5 reflector was bigger than the vho bulb with built in reflector. Are you under a hood or pendants?

just the lumenbrite pendants and no enclosed hood. eventually I'm going to enclose it (due to some jumpers)but that is one major issue that these pendants have to sit so high off the water. i have ordered a raduim bulb to test it out to see if I will like it but I'm not getting my hopes up since I have read that these bulbs do poorly with eballasts. I was looking at these t5 retro fit 2 bulb fixtures but unsure how i am going to mount these with out casting a shadow from my MH

What colors are you looking to bring out with the T5s?
