Can an Aquafuge 2 medium fit on a 34g Solana?
By my reckoning a medium aquafuge 2 might just fit on the backside of a Solana 34 gallong aquarium. Before I purchase the aquafuge, I thought I would ask if anybody has already given this a try. Any help would be great.

Good question. I was interested in doing this as well. It seems the width is OK. Just not sure if the input and output tubes will end up in the right chambers or even fit.

This is what I have so far:
- 19' full width (side to side) for the Aquafuge 2 medium. This will fit nicely on a 20" wide aquaium...assuming the inlet and outlet pipes jive with the Solana overflow box. - CPR's website FAQ's forum turns up a recommended clearance width of 18" for the hortizontal distance between the inlet and outlet pipes. I have also found a reference that the dimensional difference between the O.D.'s of the inlet and outlet pipes is 16.5" outside-to-outside. - Also from CPR's FAQ forum: The outlet and inlet pipes extend 2" from the box. - The Solana aquarium has an 18" inside clearance on the overflow box at the back wall (were the box is siliconed to the back glass) and then the sides of the overflow box taper inwards going forward to the front of the box. The problem comes with clearly understanding the true dimesnion between the inlet and outlet pipes versus the "recommended" clearance width between the pipes of 18". Is it 16.5" outside-to-outside on the pipes or is it actually the full 18" as indictated by CPR? In the end, I was hoping someone had already tried this and could give me a thumbs up or down. If anybody out there has a CPR Aquafuge medium, could you please measure the distance from the outsie edges of the inlet and outlet pipes? With this true dimension, I think I can model up the fit by working out a little trigonometry and make a conclusion on the fit. I'll let everyone know how it fits once I either receive the dimension or take the plunge and purchase the Aquafuge on a gamble. Thanks, BB |

Ah, wish I'd have spotted your post an hour ago, when I was home and taking a close look at my newly delivered AquaFuge2. If nobody else responds by then, I can get you the dimensions when I get back home from work. Won't be until at least 6:00PM your time, though.

Make sure a trimless glass aquarium like the Solana can support the weight of a fully loaded AquaFuge.

Make sure a trimless glass aquarium like the Solana can support the weight of a fully loaded AquaFuge.
Hobby Experience: Guppy Farmer Simply support the fudge from underneath so the weight doesn't pull on the tank. I would do that for any tank...why take the chance. Andreas |
