They are nice VERY good par output but because they are so slim if your eyes are not 1 inch above the rim you will be seeing spots for a bit.

I have seen them on a couple tanks, they have a nice wide spread, very shallow, and it will be able to fit in a canopy

youll always get a little glare. I think they are goos very compact, dont really have anything to compare themto though.

Great reflectors...I have 3, running 250w SS Galaxy with Radiums...
I have had to put alot of corals under the ledges because the lighting was soooo intense...I put some of the corals on the sand bottom to acclimate...but had to hide some because it was still to intense...I am thinking of raising them higher, they are at 12" now from bulb to water line...My clams on the other hand are loving them and coloring up nicely...HTH

these reflectors are by far more superior than other reflectors I have tried. we actually measured the par and it puts out the same amount as a 400w se would on the regular Lumenarcs. when people come over, they always think I have 400s over my tank and they getg surprised after they find out they are only 250s.

Pik your poison... Spread or Intensity. LME are good at intensity, LA3 are good at spread. I have heard mixed reviews. I have people who had LA3, bought the LME and ended up going back to LA3. I have people who kept their LME. It's all preference and how you want your tank to look, and how your set up is I guess.... Both people had 60x30 tanks, however the guy who sold his had a tank at 30" and the guys with at 20" T tank kept his....

I have 2 of the elite's and love them. The enclosed canopy mount works great for installing in a canopy.

interestingly I ahve lumenmax elite HQI and reefoptix III HQI. my observation is that the reefoptix actually cover a vastly wider area of the tank... but the lumenmax elite straight up make their 2' area glow like the sun. so as far as lumenmax's covering a wider area? Id disagree actually, but for 2'x2' areas, the lumenmax get great penetration and focus.

I really think this set up the LME coupled with the radiums is gonna be an awesome setup. From what I have read they are designed to light up a 2'X2' area. And on my 180g this is going to work out perfect with three setups. I am getting everything tommorow.
