Everyone aquascapes their own way. It's best to just jump right in and play around with the rocks, moving them and connecting them for the best fit. If need be, you can epoxy the rocks together, but I find that most of the time they tend to just "fit". Plus, if you want to change things around (which I usually end up doing) they won't be stuck together. My advice is to go ahead and put your aquascape together and spend the next few days looking at it and adjusting to your liking.

add rocks 1st before the sand. (^^,) it would be nice to make some bridge that fish can pass underneath. happy aquaplaning

I agree with the above posts, it's like trying to paint like Bob Ross, it's something that everyone has to figure out in their own way. And given the fact that basically no rocks are similar in size and shape, it's hard to pre-design something. Keep at it though, you'll come up with something you like

Almost everyone moves there rocks around trying to get that exact look they want. It will take time to get everything right, plus are things mature, a rock may not be in the right spot anymore. My last tank I had, I moved the rocks around about every two months for 2 years until I got things where I wanted. My wife and my fish thought I was nuts.
Jump right in and have fun, the only wrong thing you can do is nothing at all. Look through people galleries, pictures on line of peoples tanks. If you find something you like, try and recreated it. The nice thing about having a living tank, no two tanks are the same. |
