par ratings of 250w metal halides

i cam across this thread http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...5&pagenumber=1 and it got me really interested and thinking i could actually make something like that broke it down quite nice etc.... anywho there is a pic with par rating...

whats the average par ratings of a 250w metalhalide?

There are a lot variables involved, and not just ballast and bulb combo, but also reflector used, amount of distance from which the bulb in which the measurement is being taken, etc.

High Par 250 watt bulbs:

Iwasaki 250 watt 6500K
Hamilton 250 watt 10K
XM 250 watt 10K

All three are great for coral growth. Best if supplimenting with actinics. VHO blue is a great actinic choice.

grigsy, i think you should include phoenix 14k in your high PAR 250w bulbs. it has PAR that rivals those listed.
