MJ Upgrade KILLER
no im not posing about a maxi jet upgrade that kills the regulars or the current mods...im posting about a maxi jet mod that you pay for and it actually kills your fish.
and the reason why im doing this is because when i had said somehting about it a while ago i got replied to with skepticism and was told i dont know what im talking about. the story of this moded MJ is that it is only used to stir up the bottom on my bare bottom tank enough to suspend debris that collects down there....in doing so the vortex diatom filter can easily pick it up and filter it out. i had two chromis...they ate..played and were happy for 6 months untill i got th bright idea to use the moded mj to help clean th tank. adding up all the different pieces i paid for to upgrade this MJ to the flow my other koralias put out...i actually paid more than i would have for a koralia. silly me being new and listening to online reviews. i am sad for those two fish...and this isnt a hate post. its simply MY experience...with this mod. in my opinion it was a waste of money. if i had bought a koralia or tunze i wouldnt have had the problem of sucking the life out of a fish.

I have 2 maxijets with the sureflo1600 mod. And I am extremely disappointed with them as well. I consider them to be a waste of money and a sure headache. True… better off buying the K’s. however I think I’m saving my pennies and going with the MP40

there are people out there who have had luck with them but i have not and i have heard others say this too... mine were loud for 2 weeks...i couldnt sleep and the tank was in the other room. aside from that the total death count is 5 because of them. sucked a pepper shrimp 2 chromis a really big and fat lawnmower royal ghrama. now i have K3s i there as a replacement for a year now and no deaths...and plenty of flow. this powerhead was just sitting around and i thought id get some use out of it.

amen to that. i finally decided to post this especially in the "new to the hobby" section so that new fish keepers see it. Please PLEASE take online reviews with a grain of salt. i bought the aquac Remora the same way...it had amazing reviews and all it produces is tea colored water at best...even when the collection cup is all the way up. online reviews are not always to be trusted. best thing is to ask on here or better yet instead of looking up on google what you need and then "review" try to look up GOOGLE SEARCH : ("FILL IN PRODUCT NAME" +PROBLEM ) see if anyone wrote anything about that. youd be surprised.
