That is great customer service. They want to keep you as their customer.

I was told by a LFS manager that Oceanic gaurantees their tanks only if on their stands. I had looked at one of their cubes and could hardly believe the glass joints. One corner joint was inset by 1/8" at the top and I brought it to their attention but they claimed it would be covered against failure if it was on the Oceanic stand. I kept on walking.

They like to tell people that.... but in reality it is against the law. They CAN offer extended warranties to those who purchase their stands, but this MUST be clearly articulated in the warranty documentation.
