calcium help
hi i have a 120 gallon tank and cannot get calcium over 380.i have been trying instant ocean calcium booster but it is not helping. any suggestions.how fast can i raise calcium without hurting anything?

Actually 4 things need to be correct.It's not wise to just raise calcium.
Alk is very important also Should be around 7-10 dkh Mag:1250-1400 ppm And make sure the S.G is at least around 1.025

100 ppm per day is fine. This calculator will help picking a dose:
http://home.comcast.net/~jdieck1/chem_calc3.html Most likely, you just need to add more supplement. Were there any signs of precipitation (a white cloud) when you dosed previously? I agree that alkalinity and magnesium need to be okay, and I think 380 ppm is fine for calcium. The corals might grow a bit more rapidly at 450 ppm.

You probably are just not adding enough. The directions for it are ridiculous, so ignore them.
I do not know its concentration, but it is likely similar to Kent Turbo Calcium, so use this calculator and use the entry for Kent Liquid calcium (or get another brand of calcium chloride): Reef chemicals calculator http://home.comcast.net/~jdieck1/chem_calc3.html oops, once again, Jonathan is faster on the draw.
