Flame hawkfish and shrimp
Quick search shows me that it is a hit or miss with the flame hawks eating shrimp.
I have a flame hawk and am thinking about adding a fire shrimp. Should I risk it? What about an arrow crab? Think he would eat one of those? |

I very much want a flame hawk but I already have a cleaner shrimp and a pistol shrimp. I'd like to know the answer as well.

From what I read they will more than likely eat the cleaner shrimp.
You could try getting an infant flame. They seem to be more tolerable to shrimp. BTW, I love my flame. He dug a little hole at the front of my tank and sits there and watches everything. |

Flame
Agreed on the juvenial fish not bothering the shrimp. To take it a step further; both my longnose and flame were introduced as very small. The shrimp, two cleaners, two fires and one coral banded were and are all lg. and established. Both hawks are quite large now and no problems.

I would not do it. I losted 2 cleaner and 6 fire shrimp from my flame hawk. It was an expensive meal for 2 days.
