to foam or not

I just got a new 210 aga tank and I am building a stand. When I set the tank on the stand should i put a foam pad? If there is no gap,or how wide is to wide?

I'm assuming the AGA tank is trimmed? If so, no foam needed.

Thanks it is trimed. I am woried that it might have a small gap on the long side
when I get done. I tried to get straight 2X8s but you never know.

Gaps are inevitable on stands/tanks. Thus the trim - making it adapt to the surface & take pressure off the glass structure itself. You'll be fine & won't see those gaps once water is put in the tank.

I put a strip of foam directly under the tank trim (not supporting the glass, just the plastic) works awesome

Most people see these types of threads and before even reading them will reply with dont put foam under your tank.

If I do put foam, what would be good foam to use? How thick? Would foam board for house insulation work? How about camper tape insulation for truck beds?
