how can xenia take over?

I don't get how xenia can really take over since there easy to just pull off(at least it seems like it for me) if they grow too much. but i hear about people having them take over the tank. How can they really take over a tank though?

i had my xenia on a rock isolated from anyother rocks but i decided to move it closer so some would grow on this rock and maybe even block some of the dang grape caulpera thats growing on it. Now 2 stalks have attached to the rock. lol the rock where the xenia were isolated at was next to my clam and i even have a stalk thats attached to my clam

GREAT question. I think it's funny when I hear that it has "taken over." How is that possible? It's not like they grow several new stalks everyday, sure mine grow very rapidly, FOR A CORAL, but it's not like I wake up and have new colonies all over the place. PLUCK THEM THANGS AND SELL EM!!!

Very true. I used to sell loads of the stuff. I had half a tank of it but it peels off the rocks easily. It was easy money!
