How to keep fresh water reservoir clean?
I seem to be getting a build up of some kind of slimy coating on the inside of my fresh water reservoir (brute trash can)....black algae of some kind maybe....not sure. Mainly just slimy. Obviously not good. Any suggestions on cleaning and keeping it clean?

About once a month, I totally empty mine out, wipe it down real well, spray it with a bleach/water solution, rinse it REALLY WELL, and let it totally dry out.

Are you using RODI?
I have had my ATO setup for almost a year, have not cleaned it once and it is still crystal clear. I can tell because it's glass. I just dump in 5g's of water and a spoon full of baking soda every week. |

If it is not being used for ATO, you can always add a couple of capfuls of bleach once a month or so. Aeration and a little bit of time will degas the chlorine from the water or you can use sodium thiosulfate if you dont want to wait.
