Calcium AND Kalk?

I run a 120 gallon mixed reef. For the most part I have LPS, with some encrusting montisI have about 4 pieces of branching SPS total, a clam (Plan on getting another), zoas, and chalices... not an enormous bioload in my opinion. I'd say moderate. I've got alot of uncovered rock still in my tank.

I recently had some work done in my house, which included a fair bit of painting and caused my ALK to take a nosedive. Because of that I started looking into a calcium reactor to stabalize things, and found a calcium reactor package I'm happy with. The same guy with the calcium reactor has now offered me a really good deal on a DIY Kalk reactor. I've read on a few websites tips where it is good for 'high demand SPS systems', but I personally don't care much for SPS (Except for the encrusting montis, those I like, but in limited quantities) They look too much like fuzzy sticks to me Even if they are COLORFUL fuzzy sticks.

So, do I need BOTH of these? How much would biting the bullet and getting both really benefit me in the end?

Thanks guys!

No you do not need both, the Ca Rx on its own would be more than enough for the system you want to do.

I would go for the kalk reactor less hassle and cheaper. I have a mixed reef tank with my ato hooked to a kalk reactor. Calcium and alk steady.
