Level loc system v. Tunze osmolator

I'm looking at both of these systems and they seem to have pros and cons, and I'm looking for some input with first hand experience.

I have not heard much on the level loc system, but really like the idea of not having a reservoir for top off water. On top of that it is less expensive than the tunze. I really do not want a reservoir, but at the same time I want a quality product. Any opinions would be great.

I have both. The Level Loc on my 200 gal system attached to the 75 gal sump. The Tunze was on my Solana which I have since taken down. The Level Loc is bullet proof and a very simple installation. I used a reservoir with both the Level Loc and the Tunze. I can't get excited about attaching an unlimited supply of RO water to my top off. At least with a reservoir, if something fails, there is a limit to how much water will be added.

On the Level Loc, I use an 18 gal Rubbermaid with a simple John Guest cutoff valve that gravity feeds to my sump. On the Tunze, I used a 5 gal tank with the pump that comes with the Osmolater. The pump is just something else to fail however, and I like the simple Level Loc gravity feed much better.

I run a Tunze Osmollator on both of my 120s. And in the year plus to two years that I have been running them, I have not had any issues at all. Personally I would not put any other current ato system on any of my tanks.

Well if it is suggested to use a reservoir no matter what, maybe I will just get the Tunze.

I like the Osmolator... Have had one for about 3 years now and replaced the pump once (I mix alkalinity buffer in with my top-off water). No complaints, especially since I can get the replacement pump locally.
