Question Lighting hours

My tank has been setup for about 3 weeks now. I used dry rock, added some "BIO-Spira", did the raw shrimp thing and bought 8 lbs. of live rock this weekend (with some nice coralline algae on it) just to be safe. I'm slowly raising my pH and alkalinity, and my calcium is already at 410 (gradually raising that to 450 too).

My lights should be here on Tuesday. I will be running 4 VHOs on a 58g (2 actinic whites, 1 super actinic & 1 454). I don't have any corals or fish in the tank yet; I'll be putting 3 chromis in the tank soon.

So, how many hours a day should I run my lights? Should I start at like 6 hours per day, and then gradually work my way up to 8 or 10 hours per day? My main objective for now is to get that coralline algae spreading onto the other rocks. I'm patient - I can wait a little while before I start buying corals/more fish.

Also, I thought I'd stagger my lights like this (back to front):

super actinic
actinic white
454
actinic white

Thoughts? Comments??

Lots of good articles out there to read. I'm currently running my actinics 18 hours trying to get things going. The coraline in my tank HATES bright white light.
