So good news, I was able to catch the CB!!! This morning I placed a glass pane in the corner of the tank used my magnavore to wedge it tight. Leaves enough room at the top for his to swim into the corner and waited. Took about an hour or so but it happened... At some point the CB swam over the top and down into the corner. The flame distracted the CB through the glass he didn't see it coming! Netted him up and he is now floating in a cup in the tank! The lesson learned here is not really about the possible compatibility of two angels, but more about not settling for what a LFS has at the time versus waiting for the fish you wanted to began with... I wanted a Christmas island flame angel when I started building this tank...

So the LFS took the CB back no problem. Got a beautiful duncan coral and a nice frag with no less then 30 heads of these teal green polyps. Both are opening up nicely already.

It is a happy ending, the CB was a bit of a coral nipper also... Got the fish I wanted in the end and traded for some nice frags.
Nice to have peace in my tank again...

I did some research on Clams and actually had a Maxima for a period of time last year. From what I have found the Maximas are the most difficult, but in my opinion the nicest colors. Don't make the mistake that I did and get a small one. Anything less than 2" has a very low survival rate. For $60 you should be able to get a little larger one.
I ordered a female Mandarin online from Reefs2Go and they shipped me a male, which I of course I had to find a home for. My LFS is looking for me, but he said they had actually seen one that had the fin clipped to give it the appearance of a female when in fact it was a male.
