LED lighting
I wanted to try out a nice LED fixture on my fowlr. My compact florescent light fixture just broke so thought I'd give another fixture a try. I am willing to spend up to 250$. I was looking at the "Marineland LED Double Bright Aquarium Lighting System", is this any good? I just need a 36" fixture. Any help would be great. Thanks.

For a FOWLR it should be fine IMHO. It uses older technology it look like:

I don't have any corals, just fish. I was looking at either the marineland double bright LED or the marineland reef LED.

Well 12 LEDs does not seem like a lot for a 36 inch tank (especially as 1 watt), but I have not see one. Does a local shop sell them? I would try and check one out first.

My tank is actually 6 feet. One side currently has a 36" CF fixture on it and the other 36" broke. I saw a few videos on youtube of that marineland fixture and it the light really spreads all around.

I have a double bright on a 20 L - it is enough for a fish only in the 20 - at 36 inches it might be pushing the limit -- the reef version would be even better to showcase your fish

I will look into the reef version. I can only spend up to 250$ right now and the 36" fixture is around 350$. I wouldn't mind though spending a little extra and getting something good the first time.

you can get the reef ready version for around 289 if you look closely on the web. Greg Roberts Pets sells it really cheap.
