New to saltwater
I recently setup a FOWLR tank and has been cycling for 2 weeks. I have 20 lbs of live sand and live rock. I have seen no sings of ammonia yet, Why could this be? Also today i noticed the live sand clumping together, What could be causeing this?

 To Reef Central With live rock, the tank might never show an ammonia spike. You could add a bit of fish food every day for a few days, to see whether adding a fish would be a problem. Are the clumps very soft? Do they break up easily? If so, bacteria might be gumming the sand up a bit. Other people see the sand turning into sandstone. There's no clear way to prevent the problem, but it seems to happen more in newer tanks.

Your LFS probably kept the LR really well. Your LR is probably full of bacteria already. Did you add a little of fish food every day for the past 2 weeks?

Didnt add anything. The live rock looks great alot of life. I have small amount of nitrites. Thats what i thought was wird because i never seen the ammonia or nitrates ?

The clumps are soft and do break up easy.

Nitrite is safe at the levels we see, and with live rock, it's best not to have too many expectations.
 I suspect the clumps are bacterial in nature. Breaking them up might help keep them from becoming permanent, but I wouldn't spend a lot of time doing it. No need to make your tank a chore.
