Will temp keep corals closed?

Super busy life but love this hobby! Saw today my 150 was at 82 degrees...things have been a little closed the last couple of days....could that be the culprit? I added a mh penadant recently...will be watching temp a little more closely. No flaming please!

I doubt 82 degrees would make the corals close up, unless is very different from the temp you normally keep your tank. How long ago did you start using the MH? My guess would be not properly light acclimating you corals. What are your water parameters?

Yeah, 82 is a normal reef temp, not hot by any means. Unless you have normally been keeping the much cooler it shouldn't be your problem. Did you acclimate the corals to the new lighting, and if so, how did you do it?

I would it's the sudden change of water temperature. your water paramters should be fine because the only thing that suddenly changed is the water temp.
