Do I need another MP40?

I'm upgrading my SPS dominant reef from a 4 foot 125g to a 6 foot 180g. I currently use 2 MP40s in my 125g and am wondering if I'll need more flow when I upgrade. Am I going to need to get a third MP40 to place on the back wall? Or would 2 MP40s on one side and an MP60 on the other be ideal?

Thanks!

I think when the tank is new that 2x MP40's should be ok, but long term you could add another or an MP60.

I decided to add a 3rd MP40 to the back. I am quickly realizing that I either need to move it to the side or dial it down since it's moving all of my sand in the front of the tank.

I'm running the 3 of them in reefcrest mode, but is there any way to turn down the flow on the back MP40 independantly?

Thanks!

Are they ES pumps? If so check the full instruction manual for the autonomous speed setting on slave pumps, it allows you to do what you are asking.

They are the ES version. I found what you were referring to in the manual and it looks like things are working perfectly now.

Thanks!
