What to do with a 120 Gallon display tank and 14 nano?
Hello I have a oceanic 120 gallon display tank, 40 gallon or so sump and a 14 gallon nano. The large tank is about 3 months along and working on deciding what livestock to add. This will be mainly a sps tank with some lps, not planning softies at this point. The question is do I keep the nano for a quaratine tank, a independent reef, a frag area, or plumb in with main system? The location of the nano will be determined by how its setup. Has anyone ran two tanks like this together to the same sump and how? Thank you!

Not with the same sump no but I used DT water to fill a nano to use as a frag tank so the frags didn't get shocked by a parameter change. Suck water from nano to drain, DT to nano to fill it back up, fresh into DT.

I think the answer is what do YOU want to do with it?
All the choices you posted are good possibilities for it, but surely you have a preference of what you would like for it. And yes, you can run it as a second DT or Fuge plumbed to the rest of your system if you want. |

I think a second DT is always nice. I had two 75g running off a 3rd 75g sump. Was a very nice His/Hers setup to simplify me and the misses both having our own personal tanks. If their had been more room I'd not hesitated to add on to the system from their too.

I think a 14 gallon is too small for QT. I would get at least a 20 or 30 gallon if you can. Just makes it easier to take care of parameters when fish are in QT.
What I would do with a 14 gallon nano is a seahorse/pipefish tank... but that is me
