algae problem
i have a 125g reef tank that is 7 months old and is starting to grow brown string bubble looking algae. what is this algae call and how can i get rid of it.

If you want help, you should give some info. I've never been to your house and I've only ever seen this one picture of your tank. So I really don't know what is going on aside from the fact that it's been up for 7mos.
Water parameters would be most important. What kind of lights do you have? How much do you feed? Do you run GFO or any other phosphate removal? Without that, all that can be said is that algae usually means nutrient issues.

ammonia-0 nitrite-0 nitrate-0 phosphate-0.05mg calcium-440 i feed my fish missy shrimp once a day and have 3 150w mh 2 54wt5's and run the 8 hours a day

Cut your lights for a few days and see if it goes away a little.
Are you running GFO? It may be time to start thinking about phosphate.

i dont have a gfo reactor but i have corals so i cant cut my lights off for a couples days

You can do a black out for 3 days and your corals will be just fine. I have done a few black outs on a few tanks and everything looks good after it.

GFO would be my bet for a long term solution. Typically, you need to export those nutrients somehow. Often water changes alone are not enough to keep the nutrients in balance. GL!
