Aquatronica Relay # UK .vs US Version
My first post here on RC, so please be gentle.
I'm moving back from the UK to the US in a few weeks time and while I can't bring my tank contents from the UK to the US. I was hopping to bring my Aquatronica system. (to save on having to buy a new one) Now here in the UK our electrics is 230v and of course the USA 110v. I've had a look at the guts of the plugbar of the aquatronica and it basically looks like nothing more than a power strip at one end and a micro processor at the other end. The end with the plug strip does have relays above each one, so that the processor can throw the relay on or off. It appears that those relays may require the 230/240v found here in the UK to operate. Does anyone here that has the US version of the plug bar know the relay part numbers in their unit or would be willing to open it up to look for me. If so this may save me near a couple hundred dollars that I might have to spend on a US version of the bar. As I could then simply order the proper relays and replace the UK with the US. It could also just be a simple case that the UK plug bar will operate in the US as normal with nothing more than power plug adapters.. such as having 110v in would give me 110v out at each outlet. Any info on the above would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Joe |
