MAG7 TROUBLESHOOT HELP.. it's stingy...

Hi guys, I am using a Mag7 as a return pump... after hooking it up to my sump it didn't run at first... took it out, unscrewed it and realized that the previous owner had glued one of the screws on, the notch was broken... no big deal it still seals (I guess)... but outside of the water when I started it up, it started working.

So I ran it back on the sump and it works fine, then I had to play around w/ installing a skimmer and tapped the Mag7 a bit and it stopped working...

I reached in a bit and the moment my fingers touched the water, I left a TINGLE/STING... maybe electrical current? It's just in the area around the mag7... any advice? I'm kinda worried, is this electrical? Shoudl I just write this off as a loss?

Thanks so much

Yes, pull the pump and trash it. It is clear that the previous owner did not maintain his equipment properly.

If it's shocking you its done for. Keep the impeller if it looks good as a spare and get another one if that is the pump you like. I prefer Eheim pumps and love my 1262.
