Coral-vue 660 ballast. Do they overdrive t-5's...

Does anyone know if these ballast overdrive t-5 bulbs like the icecap 600 ballast did? If so, to what degree? Also can I run 60" ati 80 watt bulbs with one? How many switches do they have ( web site doesn't say). Are they the best t-5 ballast available to the reefing community? If not, what is?

Bump. I'm asking because I'm intrested in running them on a new build. A thousand repetitive led questions get plenty of responses. Someone runs these ballast, throw me a penny here.

I believe coral vue bought out Icecap when they went under, made some refinements to the 660, and sytarted selling them as well as servicing the Icecaps.

Not 100% sure but that is what I recall from about a year ago!

Assuming they are the same as the Ice Caps I wouldn't run them on anything but the 60 inch T5's. They end up wearing out the shorter lamps way too soon

Thanks grim. I just found out you can only run 3 lamps on them (60" bulbs). AND no switches on them either ( not a huge deal, but kinda a pita). Still up in the air on these. *Drae*

I had great results on my first T5 system with the long lamps but know several people who ran them on the shorter lamps and even with fans at both ends the lamps were just not able to last much longer than 6 months.
