Are these diatoms? Pix incl.
Hi all, this is my wifes 20L reef and it has been up for 4 months roughly. It had gone through a bloom earlier in life and now all of the sudden it seems to have gone into another. I did add much more powerful LED's about a week and a half ago, maybe that is whats up. TDS on RODI is 0, all params checked today are great. Hope it is just diatoms and not algae. Thanks!!

It could be cyano.... stir up the sand. If its cyano, it'll be all clumpy and have a "feathery" look to it. If it doesn't then its probably diatoms.

Looks like diatoms to me, increase the flow along the sand should help.

I stirred up the sand and it definetly looks to be clumpy. Ciano? What causes it and how do you get rid of it?
